Help and common questions
The answers our team gives every day. If yours is not here, write to us at hello@sabaisen.com and a person will answer.
- Do I need to book ahead, or can I walk in?Walk-ins are always welcome whenever a therapist is free, and booking at /book guarantees your time and lets you choose your therapist. Evenings are our busiest hours, so for an evening visit booking ahead is wise. We are open daily 10:00 to 22:00.
- Do you do reflexology? Our Foot Massage is the closest treatment on our menu: 60 minutes working the feet and lower legs, including the classic pressure points of the sole that reflexology focuses on. If pressure-point work on the feet is what you are after, this is the one to book.
- Do you do Swedish massage? The closest treatment on our menu is our Oil Massage: long, flowing strokes with warm oil at light to medium pressure, the same relaxing style Swedish massage is known for. If you like it firmer, just tell your therapist.
- Getting here from Samui AirportSamui Airport (USM) is in the Bangrak / Bo Phut area, only minutes from the studio. A taxi, Grab, or Bolt gets you to Plaza the Green at Bangrak Bay in a few minutes. Just landed and stiff from the flight? An Oil Massage is a lovely way to arrive: gentle, warm, and you leave feeling human again. Book a time at /book or walk in when a therapist is free.
- Getting here from the ferry piersFrom Bangrak (Big Buddha) Pier: we are in the same neighbourhood, minutes away at Plaza the Green at Bangrak Bay, Floor 2, Room 16. This pier serves the Koh Phangan and Koh Tao boats (including the Haad Rin Queen). From Nathon Pier (Seatran and Lomprayah ferries from Surat Thani / Donsak): about 25 to 30 minutes by taxi across the island. From Maenam Pier (Lomprayah boats from Chumphon, Koh Tao, and Koh Phangan): about 15 to 20 minutes. From Lipa Noi (Raja car ferry): about 35 to 45 minutes. Grab and Bolt both work on Koh Samui, and shared songthaew trucks run the ring road. Not sure which pier your boat uses? Check your ticket, or call us on 082 626 5991. We are open daily 10:00 to 22:00, a perfect first stop off the boat.
- How can I pay?At the studio we take cash and PromptPay (scan the QR at the desk or at /promptpay). Online booking never charges you anything; you simply pay when you visit.
- Jet lag and travel fatigueLong flight, stiff body, out of sync? An Oil Massage is the gentlest reset: warm oil and flowing strokes that ease travel stiffness without demanding anything of you. The airport is only minutes from us, so many guests come straight off the plane.
- Pregnancy and health conditionsPlease tell us before your visit if you are pregnant or have a medical condition (heart or blood-pressure issues, recent surgery or injury, skin conditions). Your therapist needs to know to keep you safe and comfortable, and some treatments or pressure levels may not be suitable. Reply to this email or call 082 626 5991 and we will advise honestly about what fits.
- Sore after the gym or Muay Thai trainingTraining on Samui is wonderful and brutal. For sore, training-tight muscles, a firm Thai Massage helps recovery: deep pressure along the muscle lines plus assisted stretching. Tell your therapist you trained and how strong you want the pressure. Give very fresh soreness a day before a strong massage.
- Stress, relaxation and better sleepWhen you are wired and sleeping badly, our Aromatherapy Massage is the one guests love most: warm oil, slow flowing strokes, and calming essential-oil scents. An evening session before bed is a lovely way to switch off. We are open daily until 22:00.
- Thai vs Oil vs Aromatherapy: what is the differenceThai Massage: fully clothed, no oil, firm pressure and assisted stretching, energising. Oil Massage: on the skin with warm oil, long flowing strokes, deeply relaxing. Aromatherapy Massage: an oil massage with calming essential-oil blends, our most relaxing treatment, lovely before sleep. All are 60 minutes per guest. If you cannot decide, tell us how you want to FEEL afterwards and we will guide you.
- Tipping: is it expected?Tips are never required and always appreciated. If your therapist made your day better, any amount is received with a wai and a smile, and cash tips go to your therapist. There is no fixed custom; give only if and what feels right.
- Tired legs and feet after a day of walkingA whole day of beaches, temples, and viewpoints is hard work for your legs. Our Foot Massage (60 minutes) works the feet and lower legs with firm, wringing strokes and pressure points, and brings tired legs back to life. A favourite in the evening; we are open until 22:00.
- Which massage helps back, neck and shoulder painFor desk, phone, and travel tension, our guests choose the Thai Massage (a firm whole-body treatment with assisted stretching that opens the back and shoulders) or the Head, Neck & Shoulder massage (60 minutes focused exactly where office tension sits). Tell your therapist how strong you like the pressure; they adjust to you. If pain is sharp, from an injury, or long-lasting, please see a doctor first and let us know before your treatment.
- Which massage helps headachesTension headaches often start in the shoulders, neck, and base of the skull, exactly where our Head, Neck & Shoulder massage works. Many guests find an hour there melts a heavy head. Drink water afterwards and take it slow. If headaches are severe or unusual for you, please see a doctor; massage is comfort, not medicine.
- Your first Thai massage: what to expectThai massage is done fully clothed in loose, comfortable clothing, with no oil. Your therapist uses palms, thumbs, elbows, and gentle body weight along the sen energy lines, plus assisted stretches, it is sometimes called lazy yoga. Say soft or strong any time; the pressure is for you, not a test. Arrive a few minutes early, and enjoy the calm.
